Back What has changed has nothing to do with partitions. Before (v3.51), when you had an object with a cluster with a material, applying an override directly on the objects's surface didn't override the cluster. But applying the override on a partition containg the object did propagate to the cluster.
Now (v4), applying the override on the object will propagate on the cluster as well, whether or not you want it to. But can still can't put a cluster in a partition.
