geometry created comes in already subd? 2004-06-18 - By Raffaele "ThE_JacO" Fragapane
Back Properties in xsi can be local or shared, when an object is first created it shares many properties at scene level (material, geometry approximation and so on).
What you did in that scene was setting to a higher then 0 level the scene's geo approx, so anything devoid of a local property comes in at that level.
To fix it just create a new object, edit it's geo approx to bring the scene back normal (if it prompts you to create a local property when editing it choose no, otherwise you won't be editing the scene level one), then to give it its own property just use property>geometry approximation.

Hi,
I've got one particular scene which is giving me a little grief in V.4 - every time I create a new object via get menu or by merging existing geometry it comes in max subdivided. Doesn't happen in a new scene, was wondering whether there was a checkbox which I've accidentally activated in this scene - had a look around and can't find anything like that though...
Anything I'm missing?
Thanks in advance, Matt
