Back This is because your global scene SubD is greater then 0....
To rectify it...create a new object and in the explorer click on it Geometry approximation property in the "selection" button or explorer....it says "You are about to edit shared property(ies). Do you want to make a local copy first?" Click "No" to this. Then set the Subdivisions in the Polygon mesh tab to "0". You can delete this object now and your scene should be fixed.
