Hello ill reproduce a mail from the mailing list about the FOV i hope its
what you are after.

Actually, if you are working with XSI, you should forget about the FOV
parameter altogether, and ONLY use the FocalLength parameter
In the camera property, open the tab called "Projection Plan" and enable the
check box. set the film aperture to the values needed, and you now have a
focal length control that uses real camera values.
Remember that according to the American Cinematographer's Manual, Focal
Lengths are in mm and filmbacks are usually defined in Inches (don't ask
why, it just is, and sof follows the same convention).

While you are at it, delete the stupid camera interest, and change your
rotation order for the camera to be ZXY so that the rotation order match a
live action pivot, which is Pan,Tilt, Roll...
