Back How many CPUs are helping? It doesn't matter how many Advanced licenses you own , 1 Advanced can use 4 Satellite CPUs. As for installing the satellite service after the fact. Is there a raysatxsi4 _0server.exe in the XSI_4.0\Application\bin directory? If so make sure there is an mi-raysatxsi4_0 entry in your services file. Make sure it looks like this: mi-raysatxsi4_0 7007/tcp # Then open up an XSI command prompt, and if you are logged on as someone who has administrative rights, run raysatxsi4_0server /install

I am having some trouble getting some of my machines to help out on distributed renders too. They have the RaySatxsi4_0 Server Service started and I have the ports right. I don't think it's a number of license problem either. We own 2 Advanced licenses and 2 Adv. Batch licenses. I can't figure it out. Do I need to go back and configure the Standalone service? How do you enable that after you've installed XSI?
