is it possible to export a font from a Director project?

It does have the font member in the cast.

it does appear in the authoring Font menu, and generates new text in Dir
project. That's what I meant by "it works in Director".
I did a search (on my system drive) after running the project and nothing
new with "Arabia" appeared. What i really need is Arabia.ttf.  It seems it's
in Ram but I can't fish it out. so close...

that appears to be the one, but damned if I can get it to install.
I did download it and got it to extract (after removing the extra .bin from
the file) but the files had no extensions. They appeared to be postscript
files, so i added a .ps, and eve tried adding .ttf, but windows would not
install them :(

That worked!! much to my pleasant suprise. I opened the project file and
then opened Max and whammo! the font became available! that's a cool trick!
nice one.

it would be great to get the ttf, but this will actually work just as well.
