is it possible to export a font from a Director project?

Does the movie have a Font member in it, or are you just saying that
the text looks right, and that it doesn't have an embedded font?

If it has an embedded you might find that it appears in your
authoring Font menu while the old projector is running. If that's not
the case, search your hard drive for any new files after running the
old movie. There may be a font file in the cache somewhere.
