 Yes, for today's shaders and rendering effects...  but history shows
that we're just going to keep trying harder and more processor intensive
renders.
 Over the past 14 years, by and large, my render times haven't gotten
any faster, even though the processing power available to me now is
about 600 times faster.

 Also, for those who work in TV-land over the next 10 years, HD
multiplies your render times by about six...
