Back No, filesize and ram usage aren't related at all (you know it :p ), but half the times I've seen rendering issues spawning from a simple change in file formats or file locations it was because of a slow network. moving from JPG (smallest filesize of the formats you could use from XSI) to MAP (possibly the largest) would make a consistant difference if you were broadcasting the texture or accessing the same storage from all the boxes thru a mapped drive or aliasing.

Does filesize on disk really correlate with how much ram MR uses, isn't map the sort of format MR keeps the images as in ram anyway?
