Automatic texture 2004-06-02 - By Anthony Rossano
Back It Will! It's called the Texture Layer Editor. I wrote all about it in the new XSI Foundation book (available as soon as 4 ships) and in my new Simple rendering DVD, also for version 4, also available when it ships. In the meanwhile just imagine, no more render trees for simple layering of textures.
Unless of course you mean the old SI3D auto-material thing where it just made every other polygon have a different local material. That would just be a cluster-local material in XSI. ATR
