Displacement popping problem 2004-06-02 - By Chris Marshall
Back Dan No, I'm using Parametric. I usually use Fine, but I was finding the render times went way up, and Parametric was acceptable. What I'm finding is that if I draw a render region around the area, it's OK, but at Pal size, it's clipped. What I'm doing is rendering the offending frames at twice Pal, and resizing. Not ideal, but I don't have time to fix it any other way. Cheers Chris

Hi Chris, what displacement settings are you using? If you're using length/distance/angle with 'view dependant' on and the object is moving slowly into frame this could be the cause of your woes... just a thought. I find that if you use length/distance/angle it's always better to leave view dependant off anyway. Your renders will be much quicker as it won't re-tessellate before every frame. Unless you have anything animated in your render tree that is.
