check this examples:
http://www.shockwave.com
http://www.director3d.de/stories/2003/10/11/listOfGoodShockwave3dContent.html
and a demo we did a year ago: www.sintesys.net/jim3d
If you are looking for the original Softimage exporter without bones and info related with it, is located at: http://www.softimage.com/download/xsi/converters/shockwave/
for an architectural stuff ?
you have got, finalgathering, hdri, rendermap etc... combined with Director MX your clients will get amazed !!!
hope this can give you an starting point and a decision. We had the same doubts two years ago and opted for Director & we are very satisfyed.

Director seems to be a good option. I remember trying it 2 or 3 years ago but never look back at it properly. It looks like you can create an interface and it's what I need. But my question is; can it support big scenes? I know there is always the computer limitation. I want to use this for some architectural stuff so it's not going to be just cubes and fishes;-)...Sure I'm going to optimize my models and textures! Finally, is there some tutorials or papers around on how to prepare and export for Shockwave? Thank you all! -- -- Original Message -- -- From: Rafael Martín To: XSI@(protected) Sent: Tuesday, June 01, 2004 2:49 AM Subject: Re: VR viewers
Hi, give a try at Macromedia Director MX, that software has a 3d render engine (so you can import & control your xsi stuff) & you can even import all type of media including flash, QTVR, Control DVD, Webcams etc... also tomorrow we will release a "bones exporter" from xsi to Director so the power of the animation mixer will be on the net in realtime.
hope this helps

also check our demo http://www.sintesys.net/exporter/ tomorrow we will release the exporter. :)

Hi all! I want to know what you guys think is the best VR viewer around? And the best should be that I could integrate it in some kind of interface with buttons and stuff like that. I worked with VRML in the past (integrated with Flash interface), maybe there is something better out there now... Thanks!
