Various drop frame problems 2004-05-28 - By Sandy Sutherland
Back Bernard - we are using Batchserve here and have not really had too many problems like you - most of our problems have been with my animators putting incorrect paths, i.e. using mapped drives instead of UNC, missing textures etc. The other problems have really been to do with rendering glitches such as trying to use too much memory etc.. BTW you mention dirtmap - this is an important one - you have to obviously make sure that any and all addons/plugins/shaders are installed correctly on all render machines.
Yep my biggest problem with Batchserve right now, aprt from it not being available on Linux yet - is the error handling, you can obviously turn on Verbose in the render panel of you XSI scene before saving and submitting, then you will find a log file in the bin directory of you batchserve install on each render machine, that might help you trap errors!
Cheers
S.
