Back You may find it's a case sensetivity thing, Bernard. For types I'd suggest using the siType builtin constants, for example siPolyMeshType, for poly meshes. This seems to work for me.
In fact, looking at these definitions, siPolyMeshType is set to "polymsh". That may be the root of your problem.
