Since approximately three days we have a problem rendering .mi files
with mental ray 3.2.8.7 p4. We were able to render these .mi files a
week ago paradoxically. We are also able to render .mi files which were
exported from XSI 3.5.1 scenes we started this week. But also if we
export the .mi files again from scenes before this week mental ray does
not render the files correctly. mental ray outputs only a rendered image
with the ambiance. Every pass which includes a shader with a lightning
term does not work. Also beginning with this week we get a lot of
redeclaration errors from mental ray we had not before, but we get these
errors also from the working .mi files. We checked the environment and
also the .mi files. I could not find something preventing mental ray to
output a correct rendering. And mental ray does render the image, but
the whole lightning information is missing. So why are we not able to
render .mi files exported from scenes we started before this week, even
if we exported the files again this week? Of course you might think we
changed our environment. We installed on some machines XSI 4 rc2, but
not on every machine. However, we cannot render these .mi on a single
computer on this floor.
