Back or you could bake the FG for every frame and re-apply it at rendertime as an image sequence texture for true inexpensive 3D MB... (sometimes the projection method fails)... I have a script for that somewhere, maybe I put it up on SoftImage.com... can't remember... if it's not I'm happy to pass it on if it can help... the lm2DMV shader works a treat though... -- -- Original Message -- -- From: Manny Papamanos To: XSI@(protected) Sent: Wednesday, May 19, 2004 2:30 AM Subject: RE: FG & MB
Stefan, I've seen that successfully done before. That technique is especially useful when dealing with large scenes and when trace intensive. I usually use FG with the 2D mb output shader but that's cause I don't require photo realistic results. I've also tested FG with the 3D MB and it seems good.

render out the animatin with FG, then make a new pass and camera project the rendered images onto the geometry (select the background group and apply a constant material with the rendered images). Then add MB in the render settings. Doing FG and MB at the same time is nothing I recommend.
I hope it made sense, and that it helped.
