Animated Fractal Displacement (time)

Animated Fractal Displacement (time)

I have done a bit of checking on this and didnt find anything..

But i was tyring to do a displacement on a gird surface today.. using a
fractal .. and animating the time parameter of the fractal..
i was using parametric displacement in the geo approx settings.. i could
get the surface to displace fine.. but .. when i animated the time
parameter.. nothing updated on the displacement... my workaround was to
run the fractal first through the weight of a mix2color node and then
into the displacement..this fixed it so that it updated the
displacement... but it seems like a weird fix... has anyone else run
into this?
