Nice Ben.

Probably not looking for a scripting solution but if so. (in Houdini
even for simple pinatable it requires some expressions)
Via scripting you can set the extrusion values by whatever, postion in
camera view, or postion on grid, I assume you want the later, so
retrieve the position values of each poly rative to the object in x and
y and use that to retireive the rgb values of an image clip at that x,y
(using getpixel or getpixel array) to drive the extrusion value.
