keeping form 2004-05-12 - By Chris Marshall
Back What I've done in the past when needing a waving cloth type thing, is to create 5 or 6 chains next to each other, each containing about 4 or 5 bones. These cover the surface of your 'net'. Now simply animate the rotation of the bones, in sequence, to get a waving type of motion, one that you can control fairly easily without it looking like a simulation. You just need to make sure you do a 'smooth envelope weights' and cycle the animation as required. Chris

Yeah your right Sandy, that would keep the form. But as I said in the email before, Im working on a 3d puppet film and it would look odd to have hyper realistic cloth simulation while the rest of the anim is puppet like.
But I will try it anyway, at least on the net, it might give some shapes I can work with, in shape animation.
thanx Flemming
