RenderTree Node

So, if you want more in-depth information on shaders and such,  press the ?
in the rendertree and go to contents.  Shaders reference is pretty
descriptive, much more so than the regular manuals.  If you want something
more in-depth (ie the math), you need to get the Rendering With Mental Ray
book.

That's the old one.  There is a newer one which covers up to 3.0.

Perhaps we can hope for another update with 3.3.

I think what he's trying to say is that most tutorials say...plug this
into this, and that into that, and here's the result. I think what he's
after is an explanation of what each type of node does, and in what type of
instances it might be used in the render tree.

Sorry, Sabah, the language gap strikes, I'm not quite sure what you're
trying to say. :)

work step by step I mean ...put the value here and connect this node
to other and it's don't explain
so clearly why they donning this or why this way..etc

         Hi Sabah,

there are some good tutorials available for downlad on the
softimage site. There's also the biggest list of tutorials and other Xsi
resources in the known universe at Ed Harriss' site at www.edharriss.com
