Sc. Op for a weightmap

Sc. Op for a weightmap

I have this strange following problem.
I've created a simple scripted op (just a logmsg) for a weightmap, set an IN
connection for it (an other obj's globY), then (interactively) modify the
globY but the update function isn't invoked unless both the viewport mode is
set to shaded and the OGL subdiv for the object is not 0.

Here's the steps.

(copied from my xsibase post)
Get->Primitive Polymesh Sphere
Get->Primitive Polymesh Torus
Select the Sphere
Get->Property->WeightMap
Right Click the WeightMap (under the WeightMapCls)->Set scripted operator
Click New Button, select "Torus->kine->global->posy"
Type logmessage "hi" in the update routine
Hit Apply

Now move the torus-- nothing's logged in the Script editor log.

If I now hit the "increase subdiv level" hotkey for the sphere AND set the
camera viewport display mode to shaded, it works. Lots of "hi"s in the
script log window.

Any feedback is very appreciated.

Reinhard
