Back I'd generate your stars with frozen hardware particles - lots of point ones, and a variety of sprites for different colours and suchlike. Do the glow in post - much more controllable and utterly flicker free.

I tried to use hardware particles but I can't get any glow effects. The glow attribute doesn't do anything for harware particles. The incandescence is also not giving much glow, it's just making them whiter. > > If anyone can answer my question or has any advice on making stars w/ particles (i think lights might be too expensive), I would greatly appreciate it. > > Thanks. > Elvira > > > -- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ----- > Do you Yahoo!? > Free Pop-Up Blocker - Get it now > > > -- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- --- > List-help: <mailto:listar@(protected)?Subject=help> > List-unsubscribe: <http://www.highend3d.com/maya/listserver/> > List-subscribe: <http://www.highend3d.com/maya/listserver/> > List-archive: <http://www.highend3d.com/maya/archive/> >
