Procedurals in XSI for creating waves?

Procedurals in XSI for creating waves?

Probably not enough control with the colour corrector. I'd go with the grad
tool.

You might also want to mess with my turbulence, it's pretty basic but it
tends to give better results and it's certainly more controlable.. I tried
it on the displacement and it still doesn't give you the peaks you're after
but the grad node should do that for you.

for Voroni, read Cell, by the way.

Hi there Morten,

Have you tried colour correction with the XSI fractals/clouds  so that you
have more emphasised peaks?

A.

Subject: Procedurals in XSI for creating waves?

I am working on creating ocean surfaces and for this particular thing I
would prefer to use procedurals in XSI for displacement. Trouble is it seems
a bit hard to get a good wave shape with the included procedurals. I have
had good succes with Combustion Turbulence and wonder if anyone here know
how to get that from the Rendertree?

See comparison here:

http://colorshopvfx.dk/XSI/fractal_displace_comparison.jpg

The Combustion Turbulence creates nice ridges for wavewcrests as seen to the
far left, and I seem to be unable to even get close with Fractals or Cloud
nodes.

Any suggestions?

TIA!
