I take it you want to limit the rotation of the first bone through 90
degrees.
So move your chain so that the bone is at 0 degrees. Go to ANIMATE >SKELETON
>Set Minimum Rotation Limit. Then move your Ik handle so that the first bone
is pointing up and press the ANIMATE >SKELETON > Set Maximum Rotation Limit.
This works for IK....
Check the scene included.

Subject: IK question

Hi all,
just wonder,
if there is a way to fix the rotation for the first bone in a IK-skeleton?
there's a possibility to toggle on the rotation limits,
but this only works for FK.
Also "Stiffnes" doesn't fix the rotation.

thanks in advance,
pablo.
