Back Try changing it to .ct, setting it to float and then changing back to .tiff It might work.... but I have not tried it.
If that does not work you might be able to use a post rendering script that changes your .map or .ct into a floating .tiff.

hmmm how do you save in tiff float format ? i have acces only to 8 bit / 16 bit. I have to save in Ct format to get acces to the float
?????
