But the only way I find is :
>select the terrain and the road polymesh >file>export>.obj >open Lightwave modeler > load obj> Drill > >export .obj >etc...
It's not very important but I hope there will be something like "drill" in the future.

Depending on your terrain, you could consider using a displacement map and the geodisplace script. You add your roads in black on the image, and they will stay flat will the terrain gets raised.
But you wont get the optimal poly count that way.
