Sandy Sutherland has the exact methodology, its something like...

create directories for FG, Caustic and Photon Maps in your RenderPictures
folder.
in render options name them $COMPUTERNAME and in each relevant Folder
That way each computer will create seperate fg maps and not overwrite...

think thats correct...

Hi all! Maybe this as been discussed before but here is my question;

What is the best way to setup Final Gathering and photon map when rendering
on a network? Is it better to put it in "append" or "overwrite" mode?

I also remember reading something about putting the photon map in "read
only" mode...
