Nvidia cards?

I just put a 5700 on a pc and works like a charm (I was offered a ATI 9600
by the vendor but declined). None of the usual* XSI display glitches
appeared: depth sorting in shaded, poly/point/edge selections, connection
wiring between nodes in the FX Tree not working etc. The only problem: I
have been doing a lot of enveloping/weighting recently and if I don't
correctly exit the weightmap & and weight paint tool before changing
selections I sometimes lose the display of the mesh. But no crashes though.
And it's quick. I did a camera animation on a scene with 2.5 million
triangles and was getting 15fps in shaded.

I would go with the 5900 if I were you.

*by usual I mean expected because of not using hadware certified cards.
