Input connection in FX tree not attaching

Thanks to all of you for your suggestions and to Softimage because for
whatever reason after resetting and changing and restoring the display
properties it worked fine

Thanks Softimage and all who offered ideas/input

Subject: Input connection in FX tree not attaching

Has anyone ever come across a problem where you cannot drag the output
(red triangle) to the input (green triangle) it isn't working for me
right now and for the life of me I cannot figure out why. Any ideas? I
have opened a new fxtree and tried editing an old one. On the old when I
try to connect an output on event A my cursor highlights the output on
event D which is in another part of the tree, really weird
