Man if you are on the list why you never log suggestions, queries etc.?
That's either bad beta testing or RC1 has been leaked on the warez scene :p

As for material management and what not... Have you tried the RVs Material
Editor and Material and Texture Explorer?

The first one is particularly brilliant, completely nullifies every other
attempt I've seen at material management, and that's only the tip of the
iceberg, because the cool thing isn't really that you now have that RV, it's
that it shows you WHAT you can do with RVs and on-the-fly scripts linked to
those elements (IE on-the-fly shaderball in the editor, which is just a
script creating a group and a ball and getting rid of it when the RV
expires).

Go back and play more!

I think there's a plugin on XSI NET that will let you control normals.
As for shadernet management, I totally agree on that.
What I really miss (and can't understand why it's taking so long) is preview
of procedural textures in Render Tree...

Please elaborate. You can email me privately, I'm testing XSI 4.0 rc1 right
now. It's got some awesome additions in that area, but I don't' see how it's
years ahead. Please provide some examples of what you mean.

Don't get me wrong. I think 4.0 is the most significant upgrade since 1.0:-)
I love it! Except that they missed hypervoxels in this release again :-(.
What I can't understand is how Softimage manages such fast development. I'm
a programmer myself and when I read the list of changes and additions, my
jaw drops :-). I guess the big sister is a great project manager :-).

Cheers,
Luke
