I think there's a plugin on XSI NET that will let you control normals. As for shadernet management, I totally agree on that. What I really miss (and can't understand why it's taking so long) is preview of procedural textures in Render Tree...

Please elaborate. You can email me privately, I'm testing XSI 4.0 rc1 right now. It's got some awesome additions in that area, but I don't' see how it's years ahead. Please provide some examples of what you mean.
Don't get me wrong. I think 4.0 is the most significant upgrade since 1.0:-) I love it! Except that they missed hypervoxels in this release again :-(. What I can't understand is how Softimage manages such fast development. I'm a programmer myself and when I read the list of changes and additions, my jaw drops :-). I guess the big sister is a great project manager :-).
