It's just a shame he got a decent day job and doesn't have the time to

Hi David, great to see you back on the list!

He uses Vray as far as I remember.  I would say those kind of renders *are*
possible in XSI/MR but
with a lot more effort than he had to use with Vray.

He certainly does have very distinct style and quality in his work.
Amazingly rich.
