I have once rendered out an insane image of 20000x17700 (due to client
request) and the only way I was able to do that was to convert all my
textures to .map and also make sure that all image nodes were set to
"broadcast" and that no FX were set. I also used FG, but never had any
problems with the FGmap.
Also, rendering to a .tga file also helped. I don't know why, but .pic
and .tif just didn't work. There is no logical reason why it didnt
work... but it just didn't.
