Back Not only was it very expensive, but it was pretty recently that they were charging for it, knowing full well that it would be integrated in version 4. So, yes, we are extremely pissed about this....
It is an excellent tool and in our opinion gives us a competitive edge. One that we paid for, but as it happened for the development and R&D for everyone else to now have free.

I really wanted our place to get this, but what Soft was charging was pretty extortionate IMO......... I'm seriously glad we got by with Smedge (Actually when I say got by, it's been pretty good on the whole, once you get used to some of it's peculiarities....). O.K. I know comparing the two is a bit like comparing a Lada to a Porsche but the Lada still gets you where you want to go.
Now it's bundled I'm pleased as punch, but i would definately be pissed if I'd forked out all that cash.... I can empathise with Phillip on this one for sure. Syflex, fair enough, it possibly takes a great deal more R&D to develop and it's wasn't developed by Softimage anyway. But a render manager.....
My 2 cents.
