the XSI vs Maya page @ softimage.com 2004-04-20 - By Bernard Lebel
Back This is my very personal opinion, I understand the intention, but I don't think disinformation about competition is a marketing approach that will benefit SI or anyone using it. I think many XSI-Maya users feel like they are treated unfairly. It looks like SI is trying to kick Maya's butt (it's been looking like that since v3). I think there are other products out there that have much better features than Maya and XSI, but the focus on Maya, the way it is being handled, looks terrible. Showing cool videos about new features and tricks is really the way to go. Users are not naive. When I'm told things like "unparalled power" and "massive performance improvements" and "new paradigm in 3D production", I tend to close my mind rather than open it.
Again this is very personal.
