I get it constantly too and it's a real pain. If it's any consolation though, you only have to nudge the timeline back and forwards a frame instead of dis/re-connecting.
While we're on the subject of displacement, is anyone else getting ugly, faceted displacements when using 'fine' displacement? I fiddled a bit, but it seems to persist.
