Back Jeezus - If I had to use windows to actually move any files, or, god forbid, delete and clean them up, or heaven help me, fix permissions problems, I would have switched careers a few years ago. That alone is worth keeping your files on a unix based server, so you can cp /path/file*pic /somewherelese/ and rm *.pic and chmod, chgrp and chown if necessary.
