Yep, I too can see this certain look in all ZBrush stuff I've seen. At least
when it comes to characters.

I'd think that it would be a really cool tool to create kind of digital
maquettes instead of building stuff in clay and then scanning them.

the detailed mesh is quite heavy in the end but you can extract
displacementmaps and/or normal maps in zbrush leaving you with a nice light
cage. i am still a bit unsure though how the displacements and stuff will
deform when animated.

also most of the zbrush models i have seen have their own very distinctive
look to it. this might be because they are mostly from a small group or
people or maybe its the toolset which only allows you to make them look kind
of lumpy bumpy.

nevertheless the detailing method does look rather nicely, its also supposed
to have a rather nice texture master for 3d painting if i remember correctly
which works just like "unique uvs" in xsi so no more uv unwrapping.

but well.. we will have to wait and see and test for ourselves. i personally
dont trust ANY demo movie.

That ZBrush looks great ....but i wonder how heavy your mesh will be in the
end and how hard it wouldbe to rig and animate...

Everyone probably knows this, but what the hey...

Well I've heard the name ZBrush come up so many times I figured I'd check
out the 20 minute timelapse movie over at CG Networks...  Jeeeesus!

I watched a video for one of the first vesions and was really underwhelmed
but this just blew me away!  I'm seriously thinking about getting out the
credit-card straight away.....

If you haven't checked it out, you should...  I really had no idea it was
that powerful.
