I also used furDesigner...and phoenix tools (!) fur a few years ago
FurDesigner was not too bad considering the period . I loved the way you
could setup all the parameters along the hairs.
by UV based hair do you mean combing with UV ?
do you really think it was a better technique than combing guides the
way it is implemented now ?
I thought it was really painful.

I also used furDesigner...and phoenix tools (!) fur a few years ago<br>

you can modify the mesh as you want, and style would not glitch (not
break).
you can move the strand over the mesh by UV!

What the hair we have in XSI now... ?

may be in xsi4 we'll have a good hair, cloth, dynamic, etc ?
