Back they have no anti-aliasing, anywhere that objects cross you get jaggies.

Hi Kim, By Z-depth I presume you mean z-pics ?? if that is the case why do you think they are a waste of time. I use them every now and again, and they work fine using After Effects !! Just wondering why you didn't like them Cheers ALEX

Or just render out a depth pass. Either use the built in Xsi one or do it by putting a grad texture on the whole scene. Put all the scene geometry in a group, put a texture projection and material on the group. It's a whole lot easier to control than the builtin depth pass and for me, zdepth is a waste of time.
