Back Yeah TGA's really suck in my opinion with most things. We used TGA's religiously with Maya since it was the most compatible format with our Illusion. So Maya Renders would come out at 1.2mb RGB and 1.6mb RGBA no matter if it was a black frame. I try not to touch the stuff if I can help it. Anyway, no more Maya, no more TGA's - however saying that, some programs use the format to the fullest and can work out that a black frame should come it at 17kb.

Freekin' unbelievable. I've been trying these tests with TGAs ... which (after retracing your exact steps) I find is the ONLY FORMAT that doesn't let you save the current exposure. JPG? Sure! TIF? Why not! BMP? Come on in, the water's warm!
Unbelievable.
Thanks.

Just short of going to that exposure in HDR Shop and hitting "Print >Screen" ... how else can we do this?
