Chain wall to simulate

Chain wall to simulate

me, I'd deform the chains to a patch - or use a texture if you can get away
with it - then envelope the patch to a few chains, animate the chains. I'm
not convinced that push ops wouldn't look a bit stretchy.

In your case, a chain grid texture applied on a fine enough polygon grid or
a patch surface should do the trick. Then animate with something like a push
operator and a weight map.

Hi All,
I have something to simulate and I don't know how to do it. I have a wall of
chain attached to a tilting furnaces
http://www.cegertec.qc.ca/images/chain_wall.JPG (like this). I don't have
acces to the cloth module cause I have XSI Essential only not Advanced. Is
there a way to animate this and be pretty sure that the result I have is not
so far from what is going to happen in the real world ???? Pretty big
expectation I know ......
