Importing models from Lightwaves... 2004-03-12 - By Rob Wuijster
Back Don't knowe about a commandline conversion for this, but there's the lightwave to .hrc plugin that does an ok job exporting to Softimage|3D format. You can open this exported file in XSI with no problem. You probably want to clean up the model regarding clusters and such if you want to redo materials and such. Have worked with it in the past and gave me almost no problems.
It's to be found on the "almighty ;)" website of Ed Harriss in the SOFTIMAGE|3D Tools section.
Hope this helps,

Hello all. I was wondering if anyone knows of a command line utility, or app I could use to convert lightwave models into and XSI emdl file, scene file or dotXSI format. I'd like to figure out a way to do it at the command line, to automate the process, and also was wondering what people have found works most reliably for porting between the two formats.
Just curious... THX RSM
