I would say you need a shader writer.... Perhaps you can get something cool with the gitane/smoke shader. But I would say you can't tweak it into the nebula shape the customer wants. You can offer the customer some different shapes, that's all. Perhaps a lot of scenes with some particles, some volume shader and a lot of compositing....
