We have a customer request to build a 3D model, recreating the
main organic object in a medical illustration, suitable for output in an STL
type machine. While the actual conversion process isn't difficult, XSI to
STL, we have been lead to understand that XSI models may not make useable
STL geometry. We are casually familiar with the various one-off modelling
techniques, but would appreciate any information anyone could provide in
getting a 3D XSI file to properly output in that medium.
