Back Hi Duncan, I hunted around for "timeRandom" and came up with cycleEmision = Frame (rather than none as it defaults too)... I got the emission working by setting the following, is this what you were saying? I would guess it is as it works....
100 *keyframe* [rate] = 0 101 *keyframe* [rate] = 30 -Emit one particle ... 102 *keyframe* [rate] = 0
110 *keyframe* [rate] = 0 111 *keyframe* [rate] = 30 -Emit one particle ... 112 *keyframe* [rate] = 0
