Back I order to avoid any confusion over the future of SPDLs in upcoming versions, we would like to reassure users that we will maintain backward compatibility for all user SPDL files. In fact SPDLs will remain an important part of the product and are used extensively to define our internal objects, something we are not currently planning to change. However it is true that we are working actively to provide some alternatives ways to achieve some of the things that currently can only be done with SPDL files. I'm very excited about these features but I can't divulge a lot about them at this point. So Francois is completely correct that anything that you have learnt about SPDL files will help you understand these alternatives, and I can add that you will be able to continue to use SPDL files if you are comfortable with them. It is great that this SPDL course is being planned. -Andrew Skowronski SDK Developer

I have no idea. Anyway, we want to do the course for people using XSI now. When eventually XSI 4.0 will be released, if SPDL are still there, fine. If they are replaced, the learnt concepts will still be applicable.

So the talk about SPDLs being dropped/replaced/whatever in v4.0 was indeed
just a rumor?
