Back Maybe we could get Soft to include Rotational shape animation which used to be implemented in Symbolics to solve exactly what you're trying to do.
You might get the right results by animating the fold using cluster centres (rather than weighting to skeletons), but swapping to a simpler model at the end of each fold to avoid the messiness.

thanks kim, i know what straight interpolation does... it's the same in every animation package, even in flash. but i thought there was probably an option to maybe keep the shape same (calculated starting & ending points, A & B) while using only one key from A to B. i would use bones, but there is so much of a mix with those shape that it would be messy.
