Back That's potentially a good idea - the machine that's doing the rendering I'm hoping will run the compositing via post-script. However I'm burdened in this life with no Advance licence to test this on. I'll dock this one for future use.
I'm just gonna take a look at the composite stand-alone for a sec - see if it'll do some of the stuff I need.
Thanks!

Is this one of those old SI standalones that only works with unpadded numbers though?
Would it be possible to utilize the FXtree for this? i.e. Build basic compositing trees & then pipe the images you want into them via command line?

There is a very basic command line driven compositing standalone included with XSI. It may do what you want. Open a Softimage command prompt and type composite.

Can anyone recommend a Win 2K compositing app which allows commands to be created via batch script? I know Shake can do this, but I'm hoping there's a cheaper solution as I'm not looking for a gui at all, just a few basic commands to be applied to images in batch en masse (image scale (with average), comp FG - matte + BG, RGB gamma shifts, etc etc).
I know this is an XSI user list, but a lot of us have contact with compositing - any ideas anyone?
Thanks in advance
Dale
