You should devide up the object in parts. First of all clusters and pass
renderings doesn't go very well together. So try and avoid that. Even if you
now think you don't need any passes... do it anyway in case you need it.
Enveloping the character doesn't matter if it's in pieces or once singel
object. But it is easier if you can cut it up, since you then more easily can
edit the weights on that part.
